Spray Foam Insulation

Quieter

Minimizes Noise Pollution

Icynene® expands to 100 times its initial volume to seal gaps and holes through which airborne sound penetrates the building. Because of its excellent sealing properties, Icynene® foam insulation creates a significant sound barrier for your living space, which creates a much more enjoyable indoor environment. It helps reduce noise that originates inside the building, such as home theaters and children's play areas, as well as noise that originates outside the building, such as street traffic or airplanes.

Icynene® foam insulation is ideal for situations where peace and quiet is a necessity. When walls, ceilings and floors are insulated with Icynene® spray foam insulation, building occupants are uninterrupted by airborne sound such as human speech, stereos, plumbing runs and outdoor noise. It also works to eliminate pipe vibrations caused by showers and toilet flushing. When Icynene is sprayed around pipes, vibration and sound transfer are significantly reduced.

Your home (or other building) can be a haven of peace and tranquility when Icynene® fills and seals every penetration such as cracks around doors, electrical outlets and plumbing pipes within walls.

Case Study: Quiet Dining

Background

The Stone Curtis Group of Houston, Texas was asked to install a thermal insulation and sound dampening solution in an apartment building.

Challenge

The apartment complex for mentally handicapped individuals required expanded dining facilities for the residents. An existing metal building located behind the apartments was to be converted from unfinished space into a fully finished dining room. In selecting an insulation solution, the Stone Curtis Group wanted to provide a means to control the conductive heat flow from the exterior metal sheeting, an air barrier that would ensure that the hot exterior air did not enter the conditioned space of the dining hall, and an insulation that would minimize sound amplification off the steel construction components.

Solution/Results

Stone Curtis selected the use of The Icynene Insulation System® for this project. The Icynene Insulation System® provided the ideal air and conductive heat barrier system, and also reduced the airborne sound.
